Random Expressions To The Industrial Genre

Sitting back and listening to a few artists that have incorporated classical instruments into their music seems to always amaze. Emilie Autumn is astounding when she lets loose on her custom violin, or when Shadows in The Dark doesn’t say a word and bedazzles people with just a piano.
A friend recently sent me a song by Within Temptation called “Running Up That Hill”. Now WHERE have I heard that song from..? oh yeah..

I listen to a slight bit of Placebo but I haven’t heard of this song until a few weeks ago. It’s interesting, though, I think with the songs buildup, he could have expanded it and given the song a bit more “UMPH”.
It’s a good song nonetheless. Of course trying to figure out who exactly this type of song could relate to is rather difficult. I mean the mate could be referring to a lost loved one or he could be singing toward a general emotion.

This band is considered to be the “Glam Rock” of Nirvana but with their song, Post Blue I believe they have a taste for what can be related to industrial. It would be more geared toward that of Synth-Pop but still, the roots are there.
Most of their songs are derived from the styles of U2, Weezer, and David Bowie. The band has done a few cover songs from Depeche Mode, which is a start into getting into the whole industrial scene and the closely related styles of Synth-Pop, Dark Wave, EBM , and Gothic.
