Juno Reactor’s composer, Ben Watkins, takes us into uncharted territories of sonic awareness with “Gods & Monsters“, and is the 7th album of Juno Reactor. This album has been deemed to originate with “transforming its sound through film music” and is 9 songs in length!

From The Matrix films, Reloaded and Revolutions, to his work in the Japanese films Brave Story and Dimension Bomb (which premiered on February 16th), Watkins’ fascination with Japanese animation makes its way into “Gods & Monsters” with the excellent cover art, (painted by Koji Morimoto). Watkins surrounds himself with the best musicians that realize a vision consumed by multiple worlds and diverse cultures. This album will be released from Metropolis- Records on April 22nd, 2008.

Alright now people, what do you call something you can’t hold, are only able to get it by buying it, and are able to listen to it. No, it’s not a hooker. BAD PEOPLE! It’s the new Apoptygma Berzerk CD!

The only sad part is it’s a digital download. So for all you people who have a addiction for plastic, best get a CD burner if you don’t already have one. Now as far as the songs go for the new contemplation release Soli Deo Gloria that is due to digitally release on September 4^th of 2007 is great. Their sample of Burnin’ Heretic gives of that eerie “Twilight Zone” feeling and coupled with the Stephan Groth’s melancholy voice, the song makes it so you can’t help but turn up and nod your head to the beat.  

Now as for their song Bitch well, you can’t help but love it. I mean the song name is great as is. No, it’s not a cover of Alan Morsetts song either, sorry ladies. With all that said and done, when the CD digitally airs, get your card ready and download this new album and enjoy it. On a side note, though this is a new album to air, it is being brought out from a debut album from metropolis-records.

Well, theStart is a bit of a toss up when it comes to industrial. For one the band is signed under metropolis records. Secondly, they are classified as new wave. Personally I think they sound like a version of Kylie Minogue and wouldn’t download their songs as of yet. Call me an EBM fanatic or close minded, either way my personal view probably won’t change.

Now for all of you that do like the New Wave and Punk styling of the old 1998 bands such as Snot and Human Waste Project, you’ll need to check out this rather self reliant band. theStart first began when those Aimee Echo and Jamie Miller first met while touring. At first the band would be then called “Hero” but changed due to the name already being taken.

They’ve been signed with many labels such as 143/Atlanic Records, Geffen Records, Nitro Records, and they have even self-published an album called The 1234EP. Now theStart is finally with Metropolis Records and plans on being with this great label for many years to come. They are coming out with a new album called Ciao Baby that is already out on shelves nationwide. The Tracklisting for this new “dancier” type of sound from the band is:

I’m not quite sure on how far this band will go with their new label, but they have been around the scene for some time now and do not wish to be defeated. Many have been saying that this band is bringing about the “Dance Revolution of Punk”, but we’ll see. I admit the band has a knack of staying in the game and a very admirable will of staying alive even when the years have presented them without a label. Many bands like AFI, The Offspring, Rancid, Showbread, Garbage and even The Birthday Massacre (God I love that woman’s voice) have toured with theStart.

I say good luck to the band, and that’s about it.
