Agonized By Love – Lovesick Society

The second release in Alfa Matrix’s conceptual “budget” line of full length CD albums under the “playstation-line” motto; these albums being characterised by their initial low pricing and their playstation box packaging. Support the young blood on our music scene before it gets threatened by extinction!! It has been said that the best descriptive word for describing ‘Lovesick Society‘, the second album by Polish Post New Romantic band Agonized by Love, is change.

The reason being is this new album all started with a line-up change as musician Mariusz Gryciuk has, as we all know, departed from the group. This split pushed Rafal Tomaszczuk (lead singer) into exploring new grounds and essentially into new found emotions. He discovered a deep dichotomy in his inner self as well as a place that is described as “somewhere in between the contradicting worlds of Love and Sickness“. So 3 years down the road, this album was constructed on colliding worlds and contradictories.

“While we recognize the previous album, ‘All Of White Horizons‘ as a theme of rejected love, hopes and dreams; we also enter a new twisted dimension, a sick world full of despair, insanity and nightmares…”

It is the unexpected encounter between the raw and dark side between the new keyboardist and prominent Polish DJ Bartosz “H_12″ Hervy and the enigmatic romantic lyrics of Agonized by Love’s unique singer. ‘Lovesick Society’ stands at a crossroads between the tortured darkness of The Cure’s ‘Disintegration‘ album and Depeche Mode’s club-ish romantic pop sensations. This new album is nothing less than a poignant and alluring dark wave opus that will touch the very fibers found deep…deep in your heart. The album is due to release on May 23rd of this year (2008)

Random Expressions To The Industrial Genre

Sitting back and listening to a few artists that have incorporated classical instruments into their music seems to always amaze. Emilie Autumn is astounding when she lets loose on her custom violin, or when Shadows in The Dark doesn’t say a word and bedazzles people with just a piano.

A friend recently sent me a song by Within Temptation called “Running Up That Hill”. Now WHERE have I heard that song from..? oh yeah..

Placebo.

Rock on, I thought. Within Temptation most often has decent music and the chick can sing. Plus since I’m a remix fiend, this was like getting a gift card for McDonalds when you are broke! So I gave it a listen and at first I really didn’t care for it. I then listened to it about 3 more times and I understand why I didn’t like it first.

They actually make the song non-depressing. (Okay so it took me a bit longer than normal to figure something out… I’ve been up for 36 hours get off my back). I do enjoy the song NOW, and mainly the intro of the song with the “windpipes” or whatever they are playing.

Kinda reminds me of those Chinese movies that are set back in the Han Dynasty era.

New Band? Who Really Knows.

I haven’t heard of these mates before but I found this article and figured it should be shared. Check out their myspace and tell me what you think!

Greek Band Arkane presents the debut album “Enraptured serene mesmerism“, focusing exclusively on the dark symphonic neo-classical idiom characterized by an intense soundtrack-ish atmosphere that emphasizes on the entrancing, mesmerizing aesthetics of seduction!

As for me, I’ll have to see what else they come up with before I can really give a good review (or not) on this upcoming Greek band.

Diffuzion Releases New Album "Bodycode"

Rasputina – Tourniquet Lyrics

I believe Marilyn Manson may have came out with this song prior to Rasputina, though, I’m not quite sure and honestly, I don’t give a crap. This version of “Tourniquet” is better preformed and the beat is more interesting in my opinion…

I have met others who prefer the Manson Version, but I think that is because they heard that one first. However, one of the MAIN reasons on why I find this song so enjoyable is because of the fact the two artists came together and produced this song.

Anyone can tell that this Rasputina song has a harder hitting beat; more so than normal. This is what makes it addicting. Now the bigger and harder hitting beat of course came from Manson’s remix, but the ladies seductive voices is what makes the song have a unique bite and fantastic allure.

Rasputina – The Olde Headboard Lyrics

These ladies have such a beautiful sound. The way their voice carries with their instruments is astounding. Though, like Emilie Autumn, this band takes some getting used to; even for the most eccentric connoisseur.

Personally, I only dig a few songs by these talented ladies (most of them remixed), but that doesn’t mean the rest of the songs are crap. I just prefer a hard hitting beat. The original songs that Rasputina produces lacks a hard beat, but their skills with a cello are something to take a note on… not to mention if you see them in concert you’ll get your money’s worth!

This is the original song from Rasputina and is the one I enjoy, however, I haven’t found any remixes of this song yet. About a quarter way through the song, it begins to remind a few people of that old 70’s “Bad porno music”.

During some parts I would agree, but it brings a sense of humor to the song. This is a really “MUST HEAR” in any music lovers book. So take a listen and tell me what you think mates!

Placebo – Running Up That Hill Lyrics

I listen to a slight bit of Placebo but I haven’t heard of this song until a few weeks ago. It’s interesting, though, I think with the songs buildup, he could have expanded it and given the song a bit more “UMPH”.

It’s a good song nonetheless. Of course trying to figure out who exactly this type of song could relate to is rather difficult. I mean the mate could be referring to a lost loved one or he could be singing toward a general emotion.

The songs holds a lot of truth’s with how society works today. One such truth is when he sings: “So much hate for the ones we love…”

But I believe the best part of the song is the very beginning with the Indian-like drum beat which slowly has a fade in with a piano. Great song to relax to and mediate with.

Puscifer Releases Movie DVD of "Queen B"

Well, My brother bought this DVD recently and it contains 2 tracks on it. I thought it may have been another weird video from Maynard, since everyone knows that mate is a bit out their but still creates top-notch music.

The only this this “DVD” contained was the music video to Queen B and some small black and white 10 minute or so movie of two people critiquing the Queen B music video. Supposedly that was the “Queen B with Commentary Track”.

Honestly, this movie DVD is just some marketing crap that shouldn’t have been marketed in the first place. Not like this mate NEEDS money. Asshole.

Don’t buy it unless you have nothing else better to do. I mean I love Puscifer but come on, if it has to be bought then make it worth buying, otherwise just slap it in with something else that is worth buying and save us the disappointment.
