For some reason I have been on a De\Vision kick for the past week. The songs are so addicting and it is very hard to explain why. Perhaps it just “That Time of Year Again”, or maybe it’s because the band just rocks.

This song was from their earlier days (the 80’s) but it shows the same De\Vision you hear today though with more of the hair band touch; especially the music video. Feel free to sing with this daunting and hypnotic beat and give some feedback in this elder band!

I’ve always loved De\Vision. Some or their songs do sound a bit… sappy at times, but their beats keep me listening to their songs over and over no matter how sappy their lyrics are. Some of my favorites are “I Regret”, “The End”, “Subtronic [Beat of Steel Remix]”, and of course “Strange Affection”. They have come so far in both looks and in style from their earlier days, though they still have a very similar style to Depeche Mode and Joy Divison. This song I actually mistook for a Depeche Mode song since the styles are that similar at times!

There are people out there stating that De\Vision have gone as far as creating rip off songs from the more widely known and one of their influential bands; Depeche Mode. Some soothsayers also state that De\Vision is a play on words from Depeche (De) and Division (Vision). I can neither conform nor deny this yet but I honestly could care less.

If the band wants to create a name by fusing two other known names and make their own, then fine. Obviously they wanted to show how much these other bands meant in their music and show some more thanks and respect then just some text under Bands Influence.

Some people can be so retarded when it comes to asinine crap as a bands NAME. If people really wish to put that kind of energy into something useful… say, their own bands’ name, then I think there could be a lot more clever and eccentric band names. Hell even some record label names could be more creative if that energy was used in a more positive manner… Retards.
