A tour would be announced in the early fall of 2008, with pre-sales in September or October. The actual tour would not start until early 2009. font-family: 'Trebuchet MS'">I’ve always loved De\Vision. Some or their songs do sound a bit… sappy at times, but their beats keep me listening to their songs over and over no matter how sappy their lyrics are. Some of my favorites are “I Regret”, “The End”, “Subtronic [Beat of Steel Remix]”, and of course “Strange Affection”. They have come so far in both looks and in style from their earlier days, though they still have a very similar style to Depeche Mode and Joy Divison. This song I actually mistook for a Depeche Mode song since the styles are that similar at times!

There are people out there stating that De\Vision have gone as far as creating rip off songs from the more widely known and one of their influential bands; Depeche Mode. Some soothsayers also state that De\Vision is a play on words from Depeche (De) and Division (Vision). I can neither conform nor deny this yet but I honestly could care less.

If the band wants to create a name by fusing two other known names and make their own, then fine. Obviously they wanted to show how much these other bands meant in their music and show some more thanks and respect then just some text under Bands Influence.

Some people can be so retarded when it comes to asinine crap as a bands NAME. If people really wish to put that kind of energy into something useful… say, their own bands’ name, then I think there could be a lot more clever and eccentric band names. Hell even some record label names could be more creative if that energy was used in a more positive manner… Retards.

This song is called “<st1:street w:st="on"><st1:address w:st="on">Love Will Find A Way</st1:address></st1:street>” by of course, De\Vision. Not only do I enjoy this song because of the sound of the singers’ voice and catchy melody, but because of how the message can be interpreted.

There have been arguments and discussions about the songs meaning. Some say it can be related to Bush and his “warmongering” whereas others say that its meaning is hurtful toward the Christian community. If you look at it, they both are right as well as both are wrong.

For one, they are both right because both interpretations can be related to the present political and religious events. After all, this “war” is in the Middle East, but for sanity’s sake and having a disregard to get off topic, I’ll refrain from pursuing more on that particular subject.

Now, for how these are both flawed is a simple matter of what is it.. ah yes.. Common sense. It’s a song for one, and it’s industrial. SO right off the bat, 9 out of 10 times it’s going to have a slight political meaning. Just like punk does. Now for where it is flawed in being stated that this song is SOLELY political, any observant fool can hear (and see) that Bushes name is not stated nor referred.

John is.

John is apart of the Christian community. So therefore, I say again, both are correct, and both are flawed. In all reality of it all, who really should give a damn? Its music shut up and enjoy. If you can’t, then go listen to Britney Spears.

As Always, Here is A Fix.

Post from: Industrial Addiction

6 Speaker Wednesday

Decayed Thoughts

Assemblage-23

Club

depeche-mode

Doom-And-Gloom

EBM

Electronica

Emilie-Autmn

Goths

Industrial

Industrial-Music

Industrial-News

Power Noise

Razed-in-Black

Remix

Synth-Pop

Zeromancer

DJ Amateur night for Doom and Gloom sounded okay to go to even though I knew I was going to tear apart the transition styles of the DJ. It would be more geared toward that of Synth-Pop but still, the roots are there.

Most of their songs are derived from the styles of U2, Weezer, and David Bowie. The band has done a few cover songs from Depeche Mode, which is a start into getting into the whole industrial scene and the closely related styles of Synth-Pop, Dark Wave, EBM , and Gothic.

The band is comprised of a few British members but only one is a full fledged Brit. The U.K. has seen this band on tour for many years, but as far as the U.S. goes, we are sadly being missed. Soon hopefully the band will grace the U.S. with its presence and give a ‘Shock and Awe” if you will with their tell-tale rumors of a spectacular show.

I would love to see this band up close and personal to see what they really have to offer their listeners. So far they have a great sound and a pretty good group of avid listeners. Not to mention an ability, if they so choose to utilize it, to produce some very eargasmical Synth-pop.

I recommend getting their CD album Meds and rocking out to “Post Blue!”

As Always, Here is Your Fix

Post from: Industrial Addiction

Decayed Update

Decayed Thoughts

atlas

dead-stars

depeche-mode

Industrial

Industrial-Music

Music

Song Reviews

witty-banter

Well it’s Friday the 13th and I’m on the move. So far I’ve been up for so long I’ve lost count. Last time I checked it was 25 hours straight at 10’ O Clock in the morning. It’s now 3:23 pm EST. I’m almost there. 7:35 pm EST is the scheduled time of arrival. Any who, through out this whole ride, my favorite genre of music has been blaring from my iPod which is jacked into my head. Sounds like bliss, no? Hitching a ride, listening to the favored music, while you count the hours till you can see the one you love above all else.

Well that’s what I thought till I heard Atlas and Dead Stars 136 Times. YES I counted them since there is nothing else to do on a greyhound from Virginia to South Carolina… besides, it’s a shuffle.

3:28. Dangit I want a Kool badly. Though, if I didn’t have any music, I would become clinically insane and probably start throwing bits of the seat beside me at the neighboring bus riders. Especially the jerk who insists on kick the back of my seat while “pretending” to talk on the phone. An interesting tid-bit: Mellow industrial songs are great for long hauls over the whole “Rah I’m Angry” and mind numbing “bizzz beee bump bump bump” of Synth-Pop.

I’ll end this post with a note that is rather quite spectacular or completely idiotic due to the lack of sleep. Depeche Modes’ – John The Revelator song matches perfectly to the lights found on that of South Carolina’s Sheriffs vehicles. If you are ever pulled over in South Carolina by a sheriff, tell him to hold on, (politely of course people), pop in the song, and both of you can stare at the flashing lights like a moth to a flame or a raver getting a lightshow. Perhaps he’ll let you off with a warning for being so “observant”, unless you ran a stop sign two roads back. In that case, enjoy a hefty ticket.

I’ll cut this insanity short and will post more relevant information when I get to my destination since the internet keeps messing up.

Post from: Industrial Addiction
