For one, Industrial music is very political; the same with punk music. With that being said industrial music, as a result, isn’t mainstream, well liked, and can be very hard to dance to.

The benefit from industrial being political is that there are some issues that can be addressed and it will be more accepted then if someone just shot off their mouth, stating their views. So when a fan of a band throws together a video to a song, a powerful message can be sent out. Mind you this message is only an opinion of one person and not everyone. Nevertheless, that one opinion seems to gain more structure, power, depth, and reasoning behind it from the lyrics of a selected song.

One reason why I am sharing this with you is because I have found a perfect example of what I am talking about. This message is a fan made video that they believe is fitting for the song by one of their favorite bands; Suicide Commando.

The song name is “One Nation Under God”. In order to understand this video a bit better keep in mind of the bass hit. Watch the video and see how, when, and what happens when the bass does hit during the song. Remember the song name throughout the movie as you watch what is being displayed.

This is just one way to help understand what Industrial music is all about and what it can represent as well as what it is not; even more so, what it is against. Enjoy the eye candy. I will have more next Tuesday and remember if you find a video that you would like to share on I.A. feel free to send me an email! I love hearing for you!

As Always, Here is A Fix.

== Suicide Commando – One Nation Under God ==

Post from: Industrial Addiction

Torture Tuesday – Margin of Error

Bands

CD Launches

Dark Wave

Electronica

Industrial Related Genres

New Bands

Album

Band-Review

Destroy.-Create.-Repeat

Industrial-Music

M3

Margin-of-Error

Music

Oghr

Skinny-Puppy

Trav15

Up-Coming-bands

Vo1d

Well now this is a new band overall, but their sound gives off a presence that far exceeds their reputation. It is comprised of Vo1d and Trav15. Not much is known from this upstart band, but much can be expected from it. Their Dark Wave and Electronica sounds give an eerie tone to the listener. The Orgy sounding song of Physical Body Projection is just one song that can give a slight hint to who their artists of inspiration are. A band with this type of talent hasn’t been heard since the days of oGhr and rumor has it, since the days of Skinny Puppy. The band is a skew of Metal/Dark Wave/Electronica and is comprised very well. Margin Of Error’s song Frustration caught my ears immediately after the first tune blazed through my speakers. It shows and it couldn’t have been presented any better.

Trav15’s artwork only adds to the beginners feel and sex appeal, though he considers his art to be “Dangerous Artwork”. The stunning visuals on the upcoming cover for the CD, their official website, and promo work is comprised solely by Trav15. Being a Graphic Artist and long time lover for that which is different, Trav15, I tip my hat to you.

Margin of Error is summed up by the words for the artists:

Margin of Error
-Est. 2thousand2-
“Margin of Error is a creative canvas that we have chosen to display our thought pattern. This years’ month of September 25th, promises to bring about the bands third and highly anticipated album Crossroads. The rumor about this album is said that it expands on the previous album Dreamweb. I admit I have always played a song or found one that I relate to everything that has been going on in my life, good or bad, industrial or not. (Industrial and the related genres like EBM, Power Noise, Gothic, Synthpop, Freezepop, etc, have always described me better.) I’m sure many of you do the same.

So people let’s go with today’s breakdown of the song. Well for one, you can tell that this song is for those tortured souls who just ended a recent relationship and still feel for the other. Great song to listen to for easing the mind from the breakup and will help cope with all that has happened.

I do believe it has a hidden power in the lyrics as well. I think that this song can be rather hateful if looked at in a different light. For instance,

“You’re waiting for your ship to come in
Like searching for the star you already watched fall
These things don’t happen twice..”

I think can basically tell a person off and leaves a message of “HA you messed up and lost something that was GREAT. Enjoy, jerk.” Then again that could just be me. If that’s the case, then what about this part of the song.

“These things I know
Will never speak a sound
This silent promise
Will be our only common ground…”

What’s this… a second meaning of hatefulness in the song?! Decay, you MUST be nuts! Perhaps but still, take a gander at what it could mean. It could be saying that even though the other person may not presently know or will never know that the other has taken the responsibility and placed all of the guilt of the break up on their shoulders, they will never say it to the other, but it leaves them with the last thing they will have in common; ignorance.

Not a very the best last thing to have in common when it comes to a break up but hey, it happens all the time in relationships.

Overall, this is a great song for moods of anger and sadness. If you are looking for a pick-me-up song, try listening to Zombie Girl or even Ayria. This song can be found on the 2005 release of ‘ Postscript. ‘

As Always, Here is A Fix.

Post from: Industrial Addiction

BOOOO Debate

Decayed Thoughts

Dark Wave

Debate

Disco

EBM

Gothic-Rock

Grunge

Hip-Hop

Industrial

Industrial Rock

Mainstream

Music

Pop

Punk

Rap

Synth-Pop

Ya know, industrial music has its ups and downs. For one, not a lot of people listen to it. Of course, the whole industrial scene is underground and that’s how many people like it, including some bands. Reason being is that they find it as a way to keep the fakes and posers out of the scene and the music true. The only backlash to this is that many people aren’t reached out to that would possible enjoy the various industrial styles.

Industrial is comprised of many different forms. The most notable are, Synthpop, Darkwave, New Age, Gothic Rock (more or less), and by far EBM. They all have their links and similarities to mainstream music such as Pop, Rap, 80’s Rock, and Grunge/Punk styles.

The big difference is the way they are all presented. The Industrial style of music is more complex in lyrics and in beat where as mainstream music isn’t. It’s all about image. Image sells and so does simplicity. Reason being is that the easier it is to listen to and look at, the less brainpower is needed to appreciate it.

Don’t get me wrong I’m not saying anything is wrong with the mainstream styles, but lately people are getting angry and have always wrinkled their nose to industrial. After all it’s easier to dance to a 6 minute repeating beat than it is to dance to one that changes through out the song.

Overall, everyone has their favorites and dislikes. The only thing I am addressing is just because industrial is harder to comprehend, it doesn’t make it shit music.

On a side note, Industrial also derived from Disco.

Post from: Industrial Addiction
