Industrial Addiction

Over the past few months I.A. has covered Electronica, EBM, Gothic, Synth- Pop, and Dark Wave. All next week, however, there will be a special week of ambient, and ethereal posts. (I haven’t forgotten this genre!!)

One thing I absolutely admire, and love about industrial music is how much can be portrayed by both the fans and bands. For one, Industrial music is very political; the same with punk music. With that being said industrial music, as a result, isn’t mainstream, well liked, and can be very hard to dance to.

Well now this is a new band overall, but their sound gives off a presence that far exceeds their reputation. It is comprised of Vo1d and Trav15. Not much is known from this upstart band, but much can be expected from it. Their Dark Wave and Electronica sounds give an eerie tone to the listener. The Orgy sounding song of Physical Body Projection is just one song that can give a slight hint to who their artists of inspiration are. This band is its own world. Their website Mindinabox.com not only shows that with just a glance at the homepage, but their music is something that is not for the simple of mind. Mainly classified as Synth-Pop blended with Dark Wave and Electronica. Wonder if this band ever runs out of plugs for their equipment. BA DUN CHING.

Ya know, industrial music has its ups and downs. For one, not a lot of people listen to it. Of course, the whole industrial scene is underground and that’s how many people like it, including some bands. Reason being is that they find it as a way to keep the fakes and posers out of the scene and the music true.
