Kraftwerk: The Industrial Lars?

Kraftwerk: The Industrial Lars?

Swedish synth duo Audio Objekt’s cover of Kraftwerk’s “Computer World” has been banned by Kraftwerk’s publishing representative in Germany. As a result the single has been taken out of distribution, physically and digitally. Audio Objekt has also been forced to remove all audio files from www.audioobjekt.com web site, Myspace, YouTube page, as well as their Facebook profile.
Next to the “Computer World” song, the album also included the single “Modellen“, a Swedish translation of “Das Model”. Krafwerk has always kept a very keen eye on the covers that are being released. Yet unlike other bands, they do not automatically allow …read more

When Gothic Meets Metal

When Gothic Meets Metal

Williams Street label has released Dethklok’s “The dethalbum” and this album delightfully holds the catatonic inducing violin work of Emilie Autumn on every track (except the short “Deththeme“). Dethklok offers death metal, speed metal, thrash metal and more mixed with Autumn’s seductively gothic melodies.
**Warning – Listen at your own risk. Your brain may not be able to withstand so much ecstasy. Ears may bleed with pleasure.**
A 2CD version of “The dethalbum” is released and includes two bonus videos on it along with 5 bonus tracks.
I’m not really into metal but hell I’ll get this album just because Emilie …read more

Somatic Responses – Digital Darkness

Somatic Responses – Digital Darkness

A new sign of life from Wales – John and Paul Healy, well-known as Somatic Responses produced a new full-time masterpiece of electronic sound wizardry. Almost two years have passed since “Giauzar” and it seems the brothers have used their time not only for the explorations of new tonal and atonal sound-scapes, but also for a re-analysis of their roots.

Classical Tunes & Industrial

Classical Tunes & Industrial

I’ve been listening to the band Shadows in the Dark much more lately. A few people have as me why; is it because they came out with a new CD?
no.
Well perhaps then I’m listening to them more because I need to “brush up” on my Shadows in the Dark savviness?
Wrong again.
Oh I know! It’s because I’m tired of listening to Combichrist.
That’s a big negative. Thanks for playing though…
The real reason

Sideline and Alan Wilder

Sideline and Alan Wilder

Sideline sent me a message today and informed me about their latest news and what Alan Wilder (ex-Depeche Mode), has to say. Mind you they said this was supposed to be a “interview” but it turned out to be more like a short story.
Here is a quickie on what they sent me:
“Today we exclusively publish an open letter from Alan Wilder (Recoil, ex-Depeche Mode), titled “Music For The Masses – I think not”, in which Wilder handles his vision on today’s shifting music market and the position of the artist in this. Originally intended to be an interview, it quickly …read more

Northern Lite – My Pain Lyrics

Northern Lite – My Pain Lyrics

Northern Lite has a few songs that I enjoy, however, I wish there were more. Given the amount of time I’ve had listening to these mates, they really just seem in some of their songs to be more interested in a dance-a-thon, rather than having a deep meaning in their lyrics, (this song further proves it).
Yes it could be argued that these short repetitive lyrics can hold a deep meaning from the artist, though, I don’t think it’s that deep due to the fact it’s being repeated 3 damn times.

Torture Tuesday – Dawn of Ashes

Torture Tuesday – Dawn of Ashes

“Where to begin with this one“, was the first thing that popped into my head upon watching this music video. Going into it I thought that it would be fairly decent due to the weight of the bands name. I guess I shouldn’t have done that at all since the video was great as picking up newly coughed up hairball’s from my resident critter, Trixie.
… yummy.. still warm and moist.

Adieu 2007

Adieu 2007

Well everyone, 2007 is near its end and I can’t say I’m that upset to see it go, (it’s just a year after all), but I did see a lot of great albums come out during this year and I hope 2008 will continue doing that and give us even better tunes that our ears can rock out to!
Enjoy the Ball Drop people and be safe, After all, industrial music isn’t dead and neither are you. KEEP IT THAT WAY =P.
As Always, Here is A Fix.
