The music was made available in five configurations at five price levels, ranging from free (for downloads of nine songs) to $300 (for a box set that includes two CDs, a DVD, an optical disc containing a slide show and four vinyl albums). He did this because the major record labels are price gouging. Last year he also urged consumers to steal his final Interscope album, “Year Zero,” because it was overpriced.

During this statement it seemed that the NIN.com servers crashed even though they anticipated a rather large traffic surge. Reznor wrote to his fans this simple message pertaining to the server problems:

“Because we know how devoted our fans are, we planned for an overwhelming response, and expected heavy traffic. To our surprise, the traffic was more than three times what we anticipated, and has only been getting heavier throughout the day. The response has been absolutely phenomenal, and we couldn’t be happier, but our servers have taken a beating, causing numerous problems with the download site.”

That takes some rather large kahuna’s and I respect that in Reznor and Radiohead for doing such a loud and in-your-face maneuver at the record labels.

As Always, Here is A Fix.

Post from: Industrial Addiction

EBMfest 2008 Updates

Bands

Concerts

Dark Wave

EBM (Electronic Body Music)

Industrial

Power Noise

EBMfest-2008

Industrial-Music

Industrial-Music-Blog

Rasc

Rostersand

Rotersand-Quotes

Updates

EBMfest is a huge event that takes place every year and the EBMfest 2007 had Rotersand as their headliner. Is this what industrial is coming to? Yes remix’s by other bands and contemplation CD’s are excellent but since when does an album need the song 3 times on it? The song is good, but not that flipping good. Not to mention if you need to put out the song in 3 different formats, normally that would mean “IT’S NOT READY”.

What makes this even more annoying is they are ruining the song. It’s been out for awhile, people enjoy it AS IS, now they put it on their NEW album 3 times. Is this a sad joke or pun coming from the band? Perhaps they messed up with the tracklist (Yeah right). Oh I know, they didn’t have enough tracks put make a new album without putting up these remixes (Come on it’s only 8 songs long.)

This band has so many other songs that it just comes across as pure laziness to put multiples of the same song. So when a fan of a band throws together a video to a song, a powerful message can be sent out. Mind you this message is only an opinion of one person and not everyone. Nevertheless, that one opinion seems to gain more structure, power, depth, and reasoning behind it from the lyrics of a selected song.

One reason why I am sharing this with you is because I have found a perfect example of what I am talking about. This message is a fan made video that they believe is fitting for the song by one of their favorite bands; Suicide Commando.

The song name is “One Nation Under God”. In order to understand this video a bit better keep in mind of the bass hit. Watch the video and see how, when, and what happens when the bass does hit during the song. Remember the song name throughout the movie as you watch what is being displayed.

This is just one way to help understand what Industrial music is all about and what it can represent as well as what it is not; even more so, what it is against. Enjoy the eye candy. I will have more next Tuesday and remember if you find a video that you would like to share on I.A. feel free to send me an email! I love hearing for you!

As Always, Here is A Fix.

== Suicide Commando – One Nation Under God ==

Post from: Industrial Addiction

Suicide Commando – X.20 (Best Of)

Bands

CD Launches

Electronica

Power Noise

Synth-Pop

Ablum-Review

Album-Release

Best-Of

EBM

Industrial

Suicide-Commando

Suicide Commando has been around for years. It seems like ever band, industrial or not, quits after they release their “Best Of” or “Greatest Hits”. That will be a sad day indeed when Suicide Commando does decide to call it a show and pack of their equipment for good. Not only is this song easy to dance and loose yourself to, it can be a great song to just have playing in the back ground when playing a FPS (First Person Shooter).
