Industrial Addiction

The word on the street, clubs, and in every My Dying Bride addict’s ear is that they have entered the studio to start recording their next (kick ass?) album. Pre-production has ‘officially’ started last week and My Dying Bride has gone into “full studio mode” at Futureworks in Manchester. Once again Mags is madly steering the wheel of this perpetually outstanding vehicle of an album. April 28th is the determined date for the release of this LIVE album which is said to be named ‘An Ode to Woe‘.

The new album from Portuguese gothic metal outfit, Moonspell, will be releasing thier next album “Night Eternal“, on May 19th in Europe and June 10th, 2008 in the USA by Steamhammer / SPV Records, even though the album was recorded at Antfarm studios which is located in Denmark. There will be, at first, two editions of the record:

 I believe Marilyn Manson may have came out with this song prior to Rasputina, though, I’m not quite sure and honestly, I don’t give a crap. This version of “Tourniquet” is better preformed and the beat is more interesting in my opinion…

This is one music video that I really enjoy despite the fact I hate the movie it is associated with. I never was one to enjoy the new trend for ’stupid comedies’. I guess I can blame that on the rivet side of me.
This movie needs to be in the archives of Industrial Addiction and HERE IT IS!
Before any rants go on, I know this music video is old, yes it’s Marilyn Manson and I also know he isn’t industrial. So what I say.

I’ve always enjoyed this song, and frankly the addiction kicks in every time I listen to this glorious song. It also reminds me a bit of Type O Negative from the singers voice, and on top of that, it’s fun to yell “HEY!” throughout the entirety of the song.

I am addicted to Lacuna Coil’s song Cold Heritage! This song has been in my media files for the longest of times, but until recently I have journeyed back to them and feel as if I have discovered a new song!
Now the song starts off slowly with a beautiful solo guitar and then adds a second guitar faintly in the background. Just as this soothing rift grabs the listener’s attention, Christina Scabbia’s soul touching voice enters into her breath taking lullaby. Upon searching for new talent among the plethora of want-to-be industrial producers, I stumbled upon the band called Collide. Now they may not be just out of the garage or basement for that matter, but they aren’t exactly the most widely known either. From what I have heard, this band has potential.

Zeromancer. Now this is a band that has reminded me of my High School days somewhat. The band was introduced to me by a very creative and joyous friend, who shall remain nameless… for now, only because she has helped me to find new sounds from old bands in the industrial genre. Angelspit is a glorious band. The song 100% can be found on Asleep By Dawn – DJ Ferret’s Mix #2 as well as on their official album Krankhaus. The song is simple yet seductive, short and to the point, and outright insane.
This song can give you a quick fix if you are in need of an electro beat and an attractive female voice. However, if you are looking for a song that makes sense, you are better off looking some place else.

This song, for lack of better terminology, ROCK MY SOCKS!
Emilie Autumn has been amazing the masses since her childhood. That is of course to be expected since she is a child prodigy on the violin. Her jaw dropping blend of gothic style, beats, and her “spirit fingers” on the violin are nothing less than spectacular.  
The song Opheliac is off the dun dun dun… Opheliac album. Makes the song easy to remember, now doesn’t it? Silly prodigies, always coming up with the most simple yet genius tactics to sell their products, and possibly be passive aggressive about all of it.
