BOOOO Debate

Ya know, industrial music has its ups and downs. For one, not a lot of people listen to it. Of course, the whole industrial scene is underground and that’s how many people like it, including some bands. Reason being is that they find it as a way to keep the fakes and posers out of the scene and the music true. The only backlash to this is that many people aren’t reached out to that would possible enjoy the various industrial styles.

Industrial is comprised of many different forms. The most notable are, Synthpop, Darkwave, New Age, Gothic Rock (more or less), and by far EBM. They all have their links and similarities to mainstream music such as Pop, Rap, 80’s Rock, and Grunge/Punk styles.

The big difference is the way they are all presented. The Industrial style of music is more complex in lyrics and in beat where as mainstream music isn’t. It’s all about image. Image sells and so does simplicity. Reason being is that the easier it is to listen to and look at, the less brainpower is needed to appreciate it.

Don’t get me wrong I’m not saying anything is wrong with the mainstream styles, but lately people are getting angry and have always wrinkled their nose to industrial. After all it’s easier to dance to a 6 minute repeating beat than it is to dance to one that changes through out the song.

Overall, everyone has their favorites and dislikes. The only thing I am addressing is just because industrial is harder to comprehend, it doesn’t make it shit music.

On a side note, Industrial also derived from Disco.
